The company is a leading Engineering, Procurement, Construction Company with expertise in oil sands, refining, petrochemicals and pipeline segments covering both operational and engineering aspects.

Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator will assist with the implementation of Project HSE Execution Plans and work closely with Construction Management Teams as the primary safety resource for an assigned area or project.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of corporate and site-specific Health and Safety procedures in accordance with all pertinent regulations during project execution.
  • Drive a comprehensive and effective contractor safety management program.
  • Assist with hazard assessment activities (JHA and JSA).
  • Maintain an active field presence.
  • Participate in Client and Contractor safety meetings.
  • Conduct and document inspections and focus/management system audits.
  • Conduct, support and document behavioral HSE observations.
  • Take an active role in HSE training and competency initiatives.
  • Lead or support incident and accident prevention, investigation and analysis.
  • Assist with the coordination of environmental requirements for the site.
  • Maintain relevant HSE documentation (electronically).
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in oil & Gas construction safety.
