**Job Title**:_Operations Manager_

**Job purpose**:
The Operations Manager oversees the acquisition, transportation, shipping, receiving, inventorying and distribution of donated or purchased food and supplies. They maintain our facility, ensuring it is a clean, organized and safe place to volunteer and work. They achieve these tasks by working hard and smart while effectively communicating with their fellow staff members, volunteers, and community partners. The ability to achieve these tasks while being kind, compassionate and understanding of people's lived experiences is essential.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- With the volunteer team maintain a safe working facility for people to achieve their daily tasks and access food
- With the volunteer team maintain a food safe environment as outlined by the Simcoe Muskoka District Heatlh Unit
- Train and schedule volunteers to make sure all roles are fully staffed and that they are successful in their role. Doing so with grace, dignity, respect, and a positive attitude is essential.
- Mange the relationships with local grocery stores and farms to optimize our food recovery program. This is done in collaboration with the development manager
- Effectively communicate
- Schedule food pickups at grocery stores, farms, and other organizations
- Optimize the warehouse layout and flow of product
- Ensure upkeep and cleanliness of our facility is maintained and all equipment is operational
- Maintain inventory of all items that we distribute or require for our operations
- Purchase food and supplies within the allocated budget
- Run the holiday hamper program in collaboration with the Member Service Coordinator
- Record all outcomes and data as assigned to make sure we track our progress
- Actively contribute to ideas and opportunities to improve our community impact

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education
- Minimum 3 years working in a warehouse or operations environment
- Minimum 5 years coordinating or managing staff or volunteers
- Experience working with people living in poverty or struggling with addictions and mental illness.
- You must be organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with the Microsoft office suite of products
- Comfortable navigating computer software
- Valid G class license with a clean drivers abstract
- Safe food Handling Certification (we will supply course if needed)
- Lift Truck Certification
- You must have a clean Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

**Job Details**

**Hours of work: ** Your work schedule is set to Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:30am -to
- 4:30pm and Tuesday from 1:30pm to 7:45pm. Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 is a food recovery shift. You will be required to fill this shift with volunteers or manage it yourself. This is a total of 32.25 hours per week. Note that there are times when longer hours are available or the need to come in on Thursday’s depending on the demands of our programs and services. The holiday season is also a busy time at The Sharing Place and longer hours are required during this time.

**Direct reports**

This role directly reports to the Executive Director with close collaboration with other staff members.

**Salary**: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
