Hours of Work:Monday through Thursday (34 hours per week with flexible start times)

Location: Canadian Film Centre, 2489 Bayview Avenue and expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.

**Job Summary**:
The Supervising Producer role is responsible for executing on all production-related activities, including all outward facing Showcases for CFC Programs; providing ongoing support and mentorship on the production pipeline process; and maintaining a professional, inspiring and safe environment for CFC talent, cast/ crew, staff and mentors. Working in association with the Executive Lead, Programs and Post-Production Manager, this role is key to building our capacity to maintain a high level of production quality, to stewarding existing and potential new production partners, and to adopting best practices.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervising all aspects of production and production-related activities for the core programs
- Ensuring that CFC’s production policies and procedures are updated to offer clear guidelines on the support and resources available as well as to outline expectations on process and deliverables
- Strategizing with the ELP to ensure that appropriate resources are in place to deliver a high level of experience and content
- Managing the day-to-day needs of the Production department, including the delegation of duties and priorities as well as creating Performance Management plans for the team
- Providing leadership and guidance to the production team on the practical and business aspects of production and on the CFC’s business framework
- Conducting set visits and in-person check ins with the residents, crews and production staff
- Providing mentorship to the residents as it relates to the production pipeline, while helping them build effective and positive relationships and upholding communication throughout
- Working closely with select mentors through advanced development and prep to address any production or creative challenges
- Leading production-related meetings and ensuring the filmmaking and CFC production teams are clear on the creative and logístical priorities, and that a clear plan for execution is determined
- Building out the budget for each block of productions and working closely with the CFC Finance Department to manage cash flow, deals and payment requirements
- Supervising the cost reporting process for productions, and keeping the Executive Lead, Programs frequently updated
- Ensuring that the business affairs process for all external facing Showcase content is delivered on and that CFC Business Affairs needs are met
- Managing the E&O process for Showcase productions in collaboration with the CFC’s General Counsel and filmmaking teams
- Managing the flow of CFC approvals through prep and production including casting, budgets, locations, key crew, legal, etc.
- Working closely with the ELP and select mentors to determine creative pairings and to manage the onboarding of DOPs and directors when required
- Build strategies with the ELP and Post manager to strengthen existing and secure new production/post partnerships and deals, including with unions and guilds
- Overseeing the volunteer crew process to ensure its continued growth and reach with regard to quality of experience and work, representation and inclusion
- Ensuring the production team is accurately tracking all production services, deals, expenses and donations for sponsorship, budgeting and audit purposes.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes for short-term production staff (PMs, PCs).

- 3-5 years related management experience in narrative film/tv production
