The Oval is seeking an industrious, results-driven, enthusiastic team player to contribute to the success of the Richmond Olympic Experience’s programs and services. The Richmond Olympic Experience is Canada’s first, and BC’s only Olympic museum. An experience unlike any other, the museum houses over 400 world class Olympic and sport artifacts, five state-of-the-art sport simulators and numerous interactive challenges.

Working under the direction of the Program Manager, Olympic Experience, the Program Coordinator will focus on the growth, development and facilitation of Olympic Experience products and services including the Education Program, corporate bookings, private rentals, flagship events, and more. The Education Program includes museum and sport-based school bookings for children and youth ranging from 5-18 years of age. Group Bookings include interest from travel trade partners including receptive tour operators, tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents, online travel agencies, international sport delegations, corporate bookings, and more.

This position works closely with the Program Manager, Olympic Experience on identifying opportunities and strengthening relationships with Travel Trade. This position also works closely with the Member Care, Community Sport Team and the City of Richmond Volunteer Coordinator to train, schedule and supervise staff to ensure the best possible customer experience for our clients. Applicants must have relevant training and experience in relationship management, program development, educational or museum programming, tourism, sport or recreation, or other transferrable skills.

This position will also be involved in supporting the day-to-day operation of the Richmond Olympic Experience, including opening and closing procedures, and briefing of staff as required.

**EXAMPLES OF WORK**
- Lead the Program Assistant - Education in building and maintaining relationships with individual schools, school boards and school board officials, non-profit community organizations, and travel trade partners
- Lead the Program Assistant - Events in executing department events and initiatives including corporate events, private bookings, birthday parties, theatre rentals, regular theatre programming, and more
- Work collaboratively with the Oval Marketing Department to market and promote the Olympic Experience Education Program, corporate bookings, and private rentals, including the identification of creative ways to attract new clientele, in addition to strengthening relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat visitation
- Project manage Olympic Experience involvement in Oval-wide initiatives such as Olympic Day, Forever Young Run, VIMFF, climbing, speed skating, and other large-scale tournaments
- Actively recruit and engage new clientele
- Coordinate facilities, staff resources, and logistics to effectively deliver programs and tours
- Develop program and marketing materials such as brochures, flat sheets, travel trade documents, and mor
- Complete highly detailed administrative tasks and providing exceptional customer service and communication
- Issue event orders for program set-up and delivery and sign-off on staff payroll
- Assist with recruiting, training, supervision, and scheduling of sport and museum for the delivery of Education Programs and Group bookings
- Provide leadership, on-the-job coaching, and guidance to staff
- Evaluate existing programs, generate/research new program ideas, and develop future programs and resources
- Report out on performance of program and visitation numbers
- Work with the Program Manager of the Richmond Olympic Experience on budget forecasting and management
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of a post secondary diploma or undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in developing and delivering programs for children and/or youth in a museum, recreation or other relevant setting.
- Familiarity with BC’s, and more specifically, the Lower Mainland’s education system considered an asset
- Familiarity or experience working with Travel Trade partners or in the Tourism Industry.
- Experience with industry outreach and relationship management.
- Experience in the development and/or facilitation of marketing and communications initiatives
- Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to smaller-medium sized groups.

- Outstanding organization skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
