Morinville, Canada Sturgeon County Full time

The Parks Amenities Specialist in the Open Space Department will be responsible for developing an amenities management program for open spaces that complies with Sturgeon County’s strategic goals, legislative requirements, and best practices.

**Job Duties**:
Leads the development of an open space amenity management program based on best practices.

Develops a system for classifying park amenity and facility data including condition, maintenance, repair history and replacement planning to track progress overtime.

Works with internal departments such as Agricultural Services, Engineering, Transportation, Finance, and Geographic Information Services, as required, to compile existing data and assess gaps, and correct or update using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Develops a process and identifies standards necessary for the prioritization of work, maintenance and repair, service levels, and asset replacement planning.

Identifies the budget and resources required to maintain and repair open space assets based on developed program.

Completes Inventories and assesses not-for-profit and partner facilities that receive Sturgeon County capital grant funding and develops a strategy to support facility life-cycle planning.

Provides asset management consultation, advice, coaching, and mentoring to affected departments in all aspects of the program.

Provides business, technological support and training to CMMS users in the department.

Adheres to applicable responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the Sturgeon County Health and Safety Management System.

Performs other related duties as the position evolves.

**Job Skills**:
Ability to demonstrate and explain the standard practices, methods and tools utilized to develop department’s asset management program.

Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the operation of computer programs including but not limited to Cityworks, ArcGIS, Outlook, Excel and Word.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Highly organized, with demonstrated attention to detail.

Ability to manage time and priorities effectively to meet deadlines.

Adapt well in an ever-changing environment.

Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Ability to interact effectively at all staff levels and to develop effective working relationships.

Strong customer service and relationship building skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

**Job Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in recreation management/administration, business, natural resources management, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public facility operations/management or similar or a related field.

Advanced knowledge of asset management principles and practices.

Experience with asset data management systems and related software as an advanced user who has full knowledge of software functionality and business processes.

Experience facilitating multidepartment workshops and meetings.

Familiarity with municipal government operations.

Any equivalent combination of experience and or education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job may be considered.
