We are looking for an experienced and capable Sales and Marketing Manager to join our dedicated team to align the strategic planning of the Sales and Marketing department with corporate objectives. This manager is responsible for managing the activities of the Sales and Customer Service teams, researching and developing marketing opportunities aimed at profitable growth, and creating competitive advantages through the planning and implementation of new sales plans.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for research and development of marketing and sales opportunities; understanding consumer/customer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system/service improvements.
- Provides timely business information to the Executive Management Team and other Department Leaders on all sales and marketing-related matters. Participates as a member of the Executive Management Team, reporting status updates on sales and marketing initiatives, and advising on critical issues as they emerge.
- Leads, guides and supports the Business Development (BD) & Customer Service teams, providing ongoing coaching and oversight including performance development/management, training and KPI’s.
- Researches and develops marketing opportunities and strategies aimed at profitable growth, based on a sound understanding of customer requirements and ongoing identification and forecasting of applicable market trends.
- Manages top accounts; analyzes top account activity and Account Manager territories. Conducts market surveillance for trends, including understanding consumer and shipper behavior. Gathers, records, analyzes and communicates the competitive landscape and market trends.
- Manages and ensures the integrity of resources in the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) database. Provides oversight, reviews and internally collaborates on client quality agreements.
- Prepares and submits BD plans, budgets, progress and sales reports.
What You’ll Need:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration with Eight (8) years’ progressively responsible sales, marketing and managerial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Management experience in LTL carrier industry.
- Strong knowledge of all organizational LTL freight-handling requirements.
- Advanced computer skills; proficiency in MS Office and Sales Software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills; ability to analyze data and write reports.
- Ability to travel; must own reliable transportation and a valid BC Driver’s License.
