- Build meaningful and empathetic relationships with program participants and community members, discovering their unique strengths, interests, and needs. Support and encourage their active engagement with Community Programs, making a positive impact in their lives.
- Facilitate inspiring in-person and virtual program sessions, activities, and meetings using the collaboratively developed facilitation guides and program plans. Bring your passion and energy to create engaging experiences for all participants.
- Compile, adapt, and develop resource materials for Community Programs, providing participants with valuable tools for personal and professional development.
- Develop and implement compelling communications strategies and materials for Community Programs. Through posters, newsletters, presentations, and social media, inspire and engage the community.
- Capture the impact of program activities through detailed documentation, supporting essential reporting to funders and stakeholders. Showcase the positive changes and growth resulting from our collective efforts.
- Cultivate respectful relationships with external partners to enhance program delivery, strengthening our impact and reach in the community.
- Play a lead role in planning and executing the logistics for Community Programs, from booking spaces to organizing field trips, coordinating guest speakers, managing registrations, and ensuring supplies are readily available. Be the driving force behind successful and memorable events.
- Take charge of developing and revising facilitation guides and program plans that reflect the participants' strengths, interests, and valuable feedback. Be part of creating dynamic and inclusive programs that resonate with our community.

**what it takes**

While all backgrounds will be considered, the most helpful history will include lived experience, knowledge, training and education in social sciences, social services or community development and five years of experience working with newcomers and refugee youth, women, seniors and their families, and community networking. Directly related experience with youth augmented with a diploma in Social Sciences, Human Services, Community Development or a related field is preferred.

To do this job satisfactorily, the role requires a willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. A **valid Class 5 drivers' license, insured and registered reliable vehicle** access are also essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.

- Shows proven intercultural awareness and sensitivity, while adhering to professional code of ethics, and complying with FOIP and PIPA regulations, legislation, and company policies.
