We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager position based in the Greater Toronto area.

The Service Manager provides high quality services to customers and participates in the installation, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation at the service center as well as customer sites throughout the service district and greater service region as required. This role is also responsible for running the daily activities for the service center as well as field support of X-Rite instruments. High quality engagement with customers regarding their overall service and support needs as well as discussion of X-Rite’s service/product offerings are expected.

Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required Interactions:
Diagnose, repair, and recondition X-Rite products and or subassemblies. Respond to high level, internal and external customer questions regarding the operation, repair, or reconditioning of X-Rite products to ensure that customer needs are satisfied in a timely manner through effective communication, support, and service.

Positively influences a high level of customer satisfaction through the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of assigned products
Uses enhanced troubleshooting skills to resolve customer issues
Works independently and prioritizes work schedule of service calls
Maintains local tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply
Stays current on technical knowledge through participation in training programs, reading technical bulletins, and attending Regional Specialist call forums
Perform all administrative duties in a concise and timely manner.
Communicate and coordinate with supervisor of the Kentwood service department regarding product and/or customer issues.
Develop corrective action plan and notify supervisor of process, print, or specification errors, and operational problems.
Prepared to properly send, receive, package, and ship customer instruments
Travel to customer site to provide onsite Field Service (up to 40% overnight travel may be required)

**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
This position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Electronic Technician or related fields, or 5 years equivalent relevant experience.
Field service engineering or technical customer support or equivalent is desirable
Ability to travel internationally for training (needs to be entitled to passport and U.S. visa)
Proven interpersonal and organizational skills. Telephone skills required in both local language and English.
Proficiency with computers, including data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and specifications. Requires a familiarity with and the ability to use common hand and power tools.
Customer-focused and service-oriented.
Ability to effectively perform all the above-mentioned essential job functions.
