- As a Land Agent 2, you will be responsible for acquiring real property interests in order to meet municipal needs. Primary duties include:

- Negotiate acquisition, sales and leases of real property interests on behalf of client business units for municipal needs.
- Conduct real estate valuations as part of the negotiations for real estate transactions.
- Prepare reports regarding real estate acquisitions and author Land Reports pertaining to real estate transactions negotiated for various committees up to and including Council.
- Present valuations and Land Reports to management and various committees as required.
- Advise business units regarding real estate requirements to meet municipal needs while collaborating with Finance and Law regarding real estate acquisitions.
- Oversee the procurement and activities of consultants, including appraisers, legal surveyors, environmental consultants and others related to real estate transactions.

**Qualifications**
- A completed 2 year diploma in a real estate related discipline and at least 2 years of experience negotiating property acquisitions or acquisitions of interests in property.
- Professional designation or certificate from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) or International Right of Way Association (IRWA) is considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong and proven negotiation and valuation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a public forum.
- You have knowledge or real estate practices, regulations, policies, bylaws, terminology and contract law as it relates to real estate transactions along with an understanding of planning practices, regulations and policies.
- Proven analytical and time management skills to solve complex, unique and politically sensitive real estate issues along with the ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external parties.
