Overview
CAYR Community Connections (CAYR) is a community-based, non-profit organization that provides support, education and promotes access to dignified care for people living with, affected by, and at risk of HIV/AIDS. The Rainbow Space Program Manager must be an experienced and highly motivated team player with excellent communication, problem-solving, and program management skills. The Rainbow Space Program Manager must have a knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Hep C and other STBBI transmission, harm reduction, and a sound understanding of issues impacting 2SLGBTQ+ community wellness. Other assets include strong community development skills, and a commitment to enhancing health outcomes for marginalized and vulnerable communities.
The Program Manager will work to build Rainbow Space program resilience and sustainability by conducting a 2SLGBTQ+ community post-pandemic needs assessment, assessing current programming and developing programs and groups while continuing to provide key services in York Region, with the intended outcome to expand previously adapted programs and services to meet the changing needs of the community (E.g., Continue program/service previously adapted to meet needs, scale access to program/service previously adapted, improve quality of programs already being delivered.)
The manager will also oversee the planning and implementation of CAYR’s Rainbow Space youth program, intergenerational/older adults programming, Safer Spaces programming funded by WAGE, and supervise programming for gbMSM services in York Region. The Manager will oversee Rainbow Space program content as outlined in the contracts funding the work undertaken by the program.
Job duties include:
Community Education and Support
- Identify the health and wellness needs of 2SLGBTQ+ community members in York Region
- Build capacity of CAYR in supporting 2SLGBTQ+ communities including provision of safe and inclusive environments to address concerns related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
- Provide referrals to relevant community resources as needed.
Community Development
- Build strategic partnerships with local community organizations, key stakeholder groups and community alliances in York Region.
- Represent the agency at local and provincial networks
- Present information to community partners on issues as they relate to 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
Leadership
- Participate as an active member of CAYR’s management team.
- Collaborate with Executive Director and program managers to review, update or develop, policies, standards and protocols to ensure coordination and consistency of operational practices related to agency programs and service delivery.
- Act as a liaison with key community partners and stakeholders in consultation with Executive Director. Human Resource Management & Supervision
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Rainbow Space team including two Youth Program Specialists, Men’s Health Program Specialist (GMSH worker), Safer Spaces Program Coordinator, and Intergenerational Program Specialist to ensure positive progression with regards to enhancing community inclusion, well-being, and engagement as well as leadership and life skills development goals.
- Supervise Program Specialists to ensure successful delivery of Rainbow Space programs.
Program Administration and Evaluation
- Compile, record and maintain up-to-date records and monthly statistical information relating to program activities as required by program funders.
- Maintain accurate and organized program participation; ensure files (paper and digital) are stored securely and safely to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality in compliance with PHIPA regulations.
- Partner with Executive Director and external consultants as needed to develop, revise and implement appropriate evaluation frameworks for program activities.
- Monitor programs by tracking program participation data including satisfaction surveys and other evaluation tools.
- Update and make recommendations to Executive Director regarding program goals and evaluation.
- Inform program participants about their rights and agency policies and procedures; ensure any complaints and incident reports are duly processed.
- Prepare formal and informal reports related to program delivery.
- Support Executive Director with funder reporting.
- Identify volunteer and student placement needs to support program and service delivery goals.
- Supervise staff and program delivery within virtual platforms, specifically Youth programming on Discord. Financial Management and Administration
