**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Global Partnerships, the **Global Mobility Coordinator (GMC)** contributes to the advancement of George Brown College's global engagement goals through supporting both employees and students across all divisional and corporate activities associated with global travel including planning, assessing risk, ensuring compliance, and assessing outbound activities across the college. The GMC is the main point of contact, primarily responsible for overseeing and delivering a comprehensive array of support services including risk analysis for all outbound global-learning activities associated with partnerships, and global travel across George Brown College. This includes but is not limited to supporting faculty by delivering outbound sessions for students, faculty-led programs abroad, study tours, and global work-integrated learning experiences.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Researches, reports, and advises on travel risk management best practices, and conducts ongoing risk assessments for global mobility program destinations, regularly monitoring Government of Canada and travel risk advisories from travel risk service providers.
- Coordinates the initial crisis and risk mitigation activity in all regions where students, faculty and staff travel for mobility activities, including strategic navigation of regional crisis events (e.g., war, political unrest, financial crises, diplomatic tensions, etc.) that may affect students and staff, and ensures that the college fulfills its Duty of Care obligations.
- Develops and maintains quality relationships with external bodies.
- Leads promotion and outreach activities related to global outbound activities to a wide range of stakeholders in various settings including but not limited to information sessions, classroom visits, fairs and working with marketing on social media campaigns.
- Coaches and advises students on global experiential learning programs most suited to their academic career goals with support from academic departments & career services.
- Coaches and advises students throughout their global experience, responding to student questions, and working to resolve any concerns, and propose solutions to ensure student success.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**:
- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources Management, International Relations or equivalent / relevant field of study or combination of education and experience.
- International Educators Training Program (IETP), International business training programs and related professional designation (CITP/FIBP). The FITT Certified International Trade Professional (CITP/FIBP) designation for global business practitioner are preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in assessing and managing risk and potential liability in a global environment is preferred.
- Solid marketing and public relations experience along with up-to-date research experience to identify target markets and follow the labour market trends in the field to anticipate student numbers in upcoming programs.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience is also required.
- Experience in organizing and prioritizing events.
- Proficient in computer software programs and creating multimedia presentations, and student related database systems.
- Fluency in a language other than English an asset.
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Ability to use advanced Excel functions to develop budgets and reporting tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. mediation and negotiation skills to resolve workplace conflicts.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Able to lift between 20 kg or 44 lbs (i.e., boxes of flyers, promotional materials, tables, chairs, etc.).
- Ability to travel across campuses and within the GTA area.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
