**Position Description**:
The Building Operator will provide a safe and comfortable environment for all patients, visitors and staff within the hospital.

**Shift**:Working Monday to Friday, Weekends and Statutory Holidays; 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Although this posting indicates an initial area of assignment and shift, the Hospital reserves the right to assign to other areas of assignment and shifts as deemed necessary.

**Here’s What You Get To Do**
- Monitor, control, inspect, maintain and repair all mechanical/electrical systems
- Provide HVAC, water, sewage, pneumatic tube system and fire protection systems
- Ensure the efficient, reliable and safe operation of all building systems and equipment
- Perform operations and maintenance using your own mechanical/electrical knowledge and judgment to take the required corrective action

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- Grade 12 education
- 4th class stationary engineering certificate or a community college diploma in building environmental systems
- Minimum of five years related experience
- Demonstrated general mechanical skills
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and to use instruments such as volt meters, multimeters, etc.
- Sufficient knowledge in order to troubleshoot, identify and neutralize any building systems emergency
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving-abilities and flexibility
- Ability to work in a team setting and have strong customer service commitment
- Demonstrated fluency, both verbal and written in English
- Ability to work in a fast paced physically demanding environment
- Capability of wearing all required safety equipment

**Employment Type**

Temporary Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
