**The Opportunity**
As the Seniors’ Wellness Outreach Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day
operation of Wellness Initiatives for Seniors Engaged (WISE) Mobile Active Living Centre (WISE MALC) in
rural communities across Muskoka, including its coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Goals of the SWOC
include bridging barriers to participation and prevent isolation among Muskoka’s seniors, particularly the most
vulnerable, through innovative program delivery, as well as to build, develop, and maintain effective client
relations and community partnerships.
**What you will do: What you will need**:
- Coordinate ongoing community-based program
implementation and development of new and
additional programs within WISE MALC.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate social, recreational,
educational, health and wellness, and exercise-based
programming in multiple rural communities across
Muskoka, including evaluating program delivery,
effectiveness, and viability.
- Identify, locate, and secure appropriate space for
program delivery and, where possible, bundle with
existing programs and/or existing locations.
- Research and develop best practices for program
delivery, health and wellness promotion, and client
- centred customer service.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in
gerontology or activation, recreation
management, or therapeutic recreation with a
specialization in gerontology
- Additional certifications such as
Seniors Fitness Instructor Certificate
or Group Fitness Instructor
considered an asset
- 2-3 years’ experience in developing holistic
wellness programming for seniors.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and positive approach
to program development and event design
including passion for inspiring and motivating
seniors to lead a healthy, holistic lifestyle.

This is a **Permanent Full-Time** opportunity at the District. The annual compensation range for this role is

The Seniors’ Wellness Outreach Coordinator (SWOC coordinates the day-to-day operation of Wellness Initiatives
