The Morven Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the broader vision and culture across the Morven (Grade 8-12) campus. The successful incumbent will lead the development of a comprehensive diversity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) program that aligns with the school’s mission and values. The DEIB Coordinator will work collaboratively with all members of the school community to create and sustain a culture of belonging. The Coordinator functions as part of a broader DEIB team which includes our Assistant Director of Student Life & Leadership, and our Indigenous Education Coordinator. The position oversees the work of the Morven DEI Associate and the Morven SOGI lead and will be assigned 0.4FTE teaching responsibilities alongside this leadership role. This is a Permanent, Full-Time position that will start on August 23, 2024.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work collaboratively with all members of the school community to create and sustain a culture of belonging:

- Work alongside other members of the broader DEIB team
- Work with the Morven Leadership Team to contribute to decision-making, and the promotion of an inclusive school culture
- Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to identify, develop and implement diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives within the employee life cycle
- Liaise with the Wentworth DEI team to ensure alignment of approach and continuity of learning scope and sequence across both campuses.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other schools, school leaders, and authorities (ISABC, MoE, FISA) who support diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Provide leadership and serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion and belonging:

- Identify priorities and actions for the school which align with strategic goals
- Support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging working groups and committees and support student affinity groups
- Occasionally contribute relevant content for external and internal communications (e.g., News and Reminders, website) to promote the school’s diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives, as required
- Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging program that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
- Monitor and support the development of anti-racist and equity-centred education curriculum links across all departments.
- Work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean of Student Life & Leadership to support student learning and reflection on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging within our student advisory and community block programming.
- Develop and deliver training programs for faculty, staff, and students on issues related to diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Provide ongoing parent education related to diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Collaborate with the Heads of House to support grade specific diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives.

Required qualifications
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Bachelor of Education
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience

Preferred qualifications and experiences
- Proven experience in supporting school-wide pastoral care, diversity, equity, inclusion or belonging efforts.
- Knowledge and understanding of the role of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and anti-racism in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading internal planning, programming, and initiatives that support strategic goals.
- Strong experience developing and facilitating learning for large groups, including faculty and parents.
- Oversight of curriculum and assessment practices.
- Demonstrated experience working with and supporting the inclusion of diverse voices and perspectives.
- Strong understanding of existing diversity, inclusion and belonging concepts and frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and skill development.
- Experience working and/or leading in an Independent School setting.
