Relevant de la Direction Générale, la.le Head of R&D met en œuvre les meilleurs processus, méthodes et outils pour livrer des projets de haute qualité. En faisant preuve de leadership créatif et positif, la.le Head of R&D défini la vision de la direction technique du mocap, développe les installations et supervise le développement d’outils et de logiciels novateurs. Ce rôle nécessite une vision d'ensemble des technologies du jeux vidéo et ses pipelines, en alliant une passion pour l’innovation et le bien-être de son équipe.
**Bien que Game On est présentement en télétravail, la.le **Head of R&D **doit être disponible pour travailler localement de Montréal.**
Responsabilités:
- Définir la vision de la direction technique de la capture de mouvement, de l'humain numérique et des technologies et processus connexes;
- Maintenir à jour les logiciels et l‘équipement de mocap, ainsi que veiller à leur maintenance et optimisation avec les professionnels et TI appropriés;
- Superviser le développement d'outils et de logiciels pour créer des données de haute qualité pour la capture de mouvement et l’humain numérique, ainsi que superviser le développement et l'optimisation d’outil d’engin;
- Travailler à offrir des outils et des workflows ‘’user-friendly’’ aux équipes internes et aux clients;
- Gérer la mise en place de nouvelles technologies et processus en identifiant les besoins, créant un budget et planifiant son intégration;
- Être le principal point de contact pour les autres départements concernant les équipements et les processus utilisés dans la capture de mouvement, la numérisation 3D/4D, l’humain numérique et les pipelines d’engin;
- Gérer l’équipe de R&D : embauche, formation, développement des compétences, assignations et suivi de la performance;
- Rester à l’affût des technologies de mocap, humain digital et d’engin en jeu vidéo; mise en place et suggestion d’amélioration des pipelines.
- Reporting to the General Management, the Head of R&D_ _implements the best processes, methods, and tools to deliver high quality projects. By demonstrating creative and positive leadership, the Head of R&D sets the vision of the technical direction of motion capture, develops the facilities, and oversees the development of innovative tools and software. This role requires an overview of video game technologies and its pipelines, combining a passion for innovation and the well-being of its team. _
**_Although Game On is currently telecommuting, the _**_Head of R&D_** **_must be available to work locally from Montreal._**
- Responsibilities:_
- _ Setting the vision of the technical direction of motion capture, digital human and its related technologies and processes;_
- _ Keep facility software and firmware up to date, ensuring equipment maintenance as well as their optimization with the appropriate professionals and IT;_
- _ Own and supervise the tool and software development to create productive and high-quality data for mocap and digital human as well as for in-engine dev and optimization;_
- _ Concentrate efforts in providing user-friendly tools and workflow to internal teams and clients;_
- _ Manage technology implementation by identifying the needs, create a budget and plan its integration;_
- _ Be the main point of contact for other departments regarding equipment and processes used in motion capture, 3D/4D scanning, Digital Human and engine pipelines;_
- _ Manage the R&D tam: hiring, training, skills development, assignations, and performance management;_
- _ Stay updated on motion capture/digital human/engine technology in video games; implementation and suggestion of improvement of pipelines._

- Vous avez à cœur le développement de votre équipe et veillez à son bonheur;
Compétences requises:
- Minimum 5 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo, préférablement sur les titres AAA;
- Excellente connaissance du pipeline mocap et cinématique dans les moteurs Unreal et Unity;
- Excellente connaissance de Suite Vicon et Suite Autodesk (Motion Builder, Maya);
- Excellente connaissance de scripting en langage C, Python, etc.
