Allied is looking for a
**Technical Services**
**Associate** to join our team in Toronto for a summer term from May to the end of August.

**What will you learn?**

As Allied’s Technical Services Associate, you will gain a deeper understanding of the various systems that support the physical infrastructure of a leading owner and operator of commercial real estate.

While honing your skills in critical thinking, problem solving and organization, you will participate in surveying and documenting the various technical inventory of Allied’s national portfolio. In the process, you will gain experience with building management software, like Yardi, and the regulatory needs of building documentation, among others.

**What will you do?**:

- Build the technical asset inventory of our National Portfolio.
- Work with Supervisors and Building Operators nationally to collect, understand and decipher technical asset data related to Mechanical and Electrical building components and systems.
- The role will contribute towards improving asset life-cycle planning as well as Capital and budget planning.
- Responsible for the migration of all engineering asset information into Yardi Elevate (Facility Manager tool), as well as the structuring of engineering asset information in order to leverage correlating information from maintenance and inspection records.
- Become familiar with day-to-day Operating procedures and Preventative Maintenance practices to assist with data collection.
- On site review with Technical Services team in the Toronto portfolio to validate and sanitize existing asset data.
- Proactively reach out and correspond with manufacturers and equipment providers to obtain information related to life expectancy, equipment component data and other information as needed.

**What are we looking for?**:

- Demonstrated interest in the commercial real estate industry.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate program in Engineering, Business Administration or Real Estate; alternatively, a program at a technical college and/or BOMA courses.
- Building systems knowledge.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to explain complex ideas simply and clearly.
