**Overview**:
As a Coordinator, Shelters & Housing at Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre (CONC), you will play a crucial role in facilitating the efficient functioning of our shelter and housing programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Shelters and Housing, your responsibilities encompass project management, communications, resource development, and administration. You will work collaboratively with various teams to maximize organizational effectiveness while upholding our commitment to Anti-Oppression/Anti-Racism principles.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operations Support**:

- Assist key operational projects in shelters and housing under the guidance of the Director of Shelters and Housing.
- Maintain and execute a reporting calendar for timely updates.
- Foster strategic operational planning for shelter and housing initiatives.
- Regularly report to the CONC Board of Directors.
- Cultivate and nurture funding relationships.
- Stay informed about Shelter and Respite standards from relevant regulatory bodies.
- Organize and manage morale-boosting special events within the organization.
- Serve as the primary representative for CONC in union-related matters.

**Planning, Resource Development, and Management**:

- Collaborate across all programs and site locations to enhance organizational and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate strategic planning sessions across programs.
- Lead efforts for systems integration and alignment across the organization.
- Oversee operational plans for physical facilities and manage capital projects.
- Provide direction and manage property management team leads and external contractors.
- Develop effective communication and conflict resolution mechanisms.
- Establish teams, define objectives, and allocate responsibilities.
- Monitor and report on the progress of capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, OHSA, and quality standards.
- Delegate project tasks as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Lead or support special projects as assigned.
- Monitor staff performance in partnership with the Executive Director.
- Source and manage external consultants when needed (e.g., IT, maintenance).

**Communications & Engagement**:

- Host shelter and drop-in management meetings regularly.
- Participate in Labour Management meetings with union leadership.
- Coordinate and deliver the Annual General Meeting.
- Plan internal and external communications in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Assist the Executive Director with funder communications.
- Represent CONC on working groups and external committees.

**Administration**:

- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including scheduling and meeting preparations.
- Assist in preparing for monthly Board meetings.
- Schedule and arrange meetings and retreats as required.
- Attend and support management meetings across program areas.
- Oversee ADP approvals for relevant employees.

**Other Duties**:

- Ensure CONC operates in alignment with Anti-Oppression/Anti-Racism best practices.
- Supervise donations and website administration positions.
- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to problem-solving and progress reporting.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration and agency initiatives.
- Uphold the values of CONC within our unique communities.
- Foster a positive working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of CONC’s shelter and housing programs.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Proven Track Record**:Demonstrated success in supporting and leading complex organizational change projects, with a track record of achieving meaningful outcomes.
- **Educational Background**:A degree in business, project management, communications, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- **Sector Expertise**:Experience in the shelter and nonprofit sector, with a strong understanding of nonprofit operations, SSHA (Shelter Support and Housing Administration), and shelter standards.
- **Diversity and Inclusion**:Training and expertise in Anti-Oppressive Practice and Anti-Racism best practices to ensure an inclusive and equitable approach to projects.
- **Project Management**:Possession of a recognized project management certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
- **Regulatory Knowledge**:Up-to-date knowledge of Shelter and Respite standards from Shelter Support and Housing Administration, as well as familiarity with relevant legislative bodies.
- **Technical Proficiency**:Proficiency in City of Toronto reporting tools is an asset. Additionally, strong technical skills, including data management and HRIS systems in the nonprofit sector, are expected.
- **Criminal Record Check**:Ability to provide a current criminal record check as required.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:Experience in coordinating and/or leading communications with and for community partners and elected officials is a strong asset.
