**Responsibilities**:

- Recruit, select, train, supervise and guide volunteers;
- Develop and execute volunteer recruitment campaigns;
- Respond to inquiries and requests from potential volunteers and volunteer groups;
- Assess and screen potential volunteers by conducting interviews and reference checks;
- Make referrals to various program areas;
- Conduct one-on-one orientation sessions with new volunteers;
- Provide volunteers with ongoing coaching, motivation and support to enhance the service delivered to clients and to support the efficient operation of programming;
- Manage the volunteer database (Better Impact) by tracking and updating information such as activities, assignments and hours;
- Plan and execute Annual Income Tax clinics, volunteer recognition events and other initiatives such as appreciation parties and volunteer surveys;
- Coordinate the Seniors Chat Program;
- Provide monthly reports and statistics;
- Conduct annual volunteer reviews;
- Confer with staff regarding volunteer needs and suitability;
- Performs other duties as required.
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in a comparable position within a not-for-profit organization;
- Volunteer Management certificate an asset.

**Key skills and abilities we are looking for**:

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
- Knowledge of volunteer management principles and practices;
- Demonstrated volunteer development and supervisory skills;
- Administrator experience using Better Impact a strong asset.

**Special Requirements**:

- Criminal background check;
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and statutory holidays as required.
