Hi I am Ro Fernandez, Director of Product Management at PlayMPE. We are looking for a Product Manager to not only join our team but also to collaborate with me to bring our product to the next level.

Obsessed with our customers and driven to help artists distribute and monitor their music effortlessly, we continually seek innovative solutions through strategy and design. Our products - Caster, Player, and MTR - have already resonated with major industry players, including companies like Universal and Warner.

**About the team**

This opportunity is extraordinary for those who are passionate about building not only a product but, at its core, a business. Our product was recently launched, so we currently have a beta product build. The shape and growth of this product will partially depend on your decisions and your collaboration with your manager and the team.

It’s important to note that “Experience using Jira” is a non-negotiable requirement.

**How do we work? **We are a fast-paced, result-oriented, flexible, and transparent product dpt. Our department operates based on trust, clear deadlines, and expectations, encouraging consistent delivery without micromanagement. You will have full freedom to manage your time.
- **Transparency is ingrained in our culture**:

- there are no silo conversations, folders, or to-do lists that nobody can see. Everyone knows the process you are following, when they need to be involved, what tasks need to be completed, and how decisions are made.
- **Doers and result-oriented**: While you will have deliverables on a bi-weekly basis, our focus is on achieving results. We hire people who are willing to speak up and bring ideas to the table to ensure the growth of our business and products.

It’s important to recognize that we are far from perfect, and you may occasionally need to act as a project manager, holding people accountable from other departments and within your own pod. Therefore, feeling comfortable with accountability and project management is crucial.
- **Fewer meetings**: We say no to unnecessary meetings and have transitioned many of our meetings to asynchronous formats.
- **No hierarchy, politics, or egos**:We value and respect individuals who are willing to acknowledge when they are wrong, express concerns, or seek help, including members of the executive and leadership teams. Your manager will encourage you to challenge them regularly because your perspective holds significant weight.
- **Ideas without a plan are just a dream**:We encourage innovation and ideation within our department, and we have structures in place to support you in bringing new ideas to the table. However, two principles guide our approach: validate ideas first, so we test ideas without exhausting internal resources, and “Done and out in the world where actual users can provide feedback is better than perfect.” We have specific timeframes for the ideation process, as we prioritize moving forward.

**About MTR.**

This is the product you will be managing.

MTR is a radio monitoring platform for artists and small labels that helps them monitor their music in radio stations in real-time. Our platform was launched recently in Canada and we are planning to expand to new markets and keep building the product that is more aligned with what our users and the new generation of musicians and labels need.

**About the opportunity**

At Play MPE - Product managers provide clarity and direction about the product vision and strategy. A product manager is often the one who:

- Brings the team together around a common understanding of the product vision and the customer problem.
- Brings the team together to define a solution and act as the main product ambassador for that solution.
- Acts often as a project manager ensuring developers, designers and marketers get things done before the due date.
- Defines the product vision and roadmap by deeply understanding the problem and connecting the collective knowledge shared between all stakeholders about the problem and the potential solutions.
- Stays informed about current trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Manages the product cycle, product roadmap, and product growth.
- Supports the team by prioritizing the product backlog and creating user stories.
- Delivers business outcomes and works with the marketing and sales team to increase revenue, customer retention, etc.
- Works with executives to define the business goals and helps refine the organization's value proposition.
