Servus is growing We are looking for a **_Manager Business Finance_** in our **Financial Performance department.**

This leadership role on the Financial Performance team works closely with the business and support units within Servus to provide advice and guidance on financial matters and decisions that could impact the bottom line. With the support of a team of financial analysts (3 currently) this position is responsible for developing and utilizing financial models, reports and visuals to improve efficiency and accuracy of decision making within the organization.

It is expected that this role will develop a deep understanding of the business and work collaboratively with others in the credit union to offer proactive and valuable insights and counsel that will drive strategic decision making and ultimately adjustments in the overall management of the credit union. This includes providing insights on revenue and expense trends (with an understanding of associated drivers) and recommendations on revenue and expense optimization opportunities.

With a major focus on long term sustainability, the role will support the development of annual and detailed budgets as well as long term targets that are aligned with the operational and strategic objectives of the credit union.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Proactively support business and support units in measuring results, tracking performance vs. expectations, and providing insightful and actionable recommendations to ensure targets and objectives are met.
- Analyze data, understand key drivers, model scenarios and present output to provide insights not readily apparent to business and support units.
- Provide insights into business performance vs. competitor and industry trends.
- Build financial capacity within the business and support units by clearly explaining and presenting complex financial data in an understandable way.
- Support and counsel the business and support units through the budget and forecast process, ensuring that the result is realistic and aligned to strategic objectives.
- Assist in the development of business cases for capital and operating projects.
- Leverage tools and technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the reporting and analysis process.
- Build strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders within the credit union.
- Provide stewardship that ensures the long-term sustainability of the credit union.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and direction to members of the team.

**Requirements**:
To qualify, you will need at least the following:

- Minimum of 5 years senior or post-designation accounting experience.
- A sound understanding of management accounting principles and techniques is required.
- An accounting or financial designation, CPA, CA, CMA or CGA.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong financial modelling skills for projection and case-based scenarios.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting guidance - IFRS.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong interest in data and analytics with experience using reporting tool like Power BI, Power Query.
- Fluency with Microsoft Excel and IBM Planning Analytics is required.
- University Degree, preferably in the business or economic field.
- Experience with budgeting or financial analysis is strongly preferred.
- Experience with financial institution operations is a valuable asset.

*Occasional overtime may be required, particularly during budget development and fiscal year end. Weekend or shift work, available to travel, etc.*
