**Introduction to role**

Are you passionate about engaging employees and raising awareness of Ethics at AstraZeneca? As a Communications Specialist, you will manage and improve communication flows within the function and the wider business. You will identify, create, and deliver clear and engaging communications materials, campaigns, and activities for the Global Ethics & Compliance function. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will multitask and adapt in a changing environment. You will be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal audiences and measuring success.

**Accountabilities**

Communications Strategy and Planning:

- Collaborate with the KMI Director on planning initiatives.
- Measure the effectiveness of communication approaches, provide analysis, and make recommendations for continuous improvements, including simplification where appropriate.
- Implement Annual Plans (both functional and business facing) in line with leadership objectives and business goals, in collaboration with Corporate Affairs partners.
- Create communications/change management plans on an ad hoc basis (e.g., new systems implementation).
- Advise functional teams around successful communications and planning as required.
- Advise and mentor internal partners, including senior leaders on events/issues that need to be communicated.

**Lead communications campaigns**:

- Act as a Project Manager for global campaigns and ensure maximum engagement for Ethics Week and Code of Ethics roll out, and support Values in Action year-round.
- Work with GCLT representatives to update and complete our annual ethics survey. This includes crafting communications for before and after the survey and developing messages to share the findings.
- Ensure communications are on-message and pushed through the relevant platforms.
- Ensure communications follow the company’s brand guidelines resulting in high quality products.
- Maintain relationships with external partners such as communications agencies and internal corporate affairs teams.

**Maintain and update communications channels**:

- Build and maintain communication channels such as Nucleus pages and SharePoint and create a strong social presence on Workplace.
- Assess effectiveness of existing communications/information and programmes to improve where possible in future.

**Functional Communications**:

- Create a sense of community within the global function through events and communications activities.
- Write impactful case studies and disseminate compliance news within the function for use by business partners.
- Assist with coordination of Global Ethics & Compliance townhalls to harmonies' the pillar and support networking.
- Coordinate annual functional awards in alignment with CEO Award programme ensuring maximum engagement.
- Create, maintain, and communicate Global Sustainability comms calendar to educate on deliverables/key dates/dates of interest.

**Crucial Skills/Experience**
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ Years of professional experience preferably in communications and social media
- Excellent English verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Experience in copywriting and editing
- Experience of working with AI and strong prompting skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize and delegate multiple tasks or projects at one time and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, able to adapt fast to new situations
- Analytical, with a keen attention to detail

**Desirable Skills/Experience**
- Knowledge of the Orchestra system to support internal Nucleus portal
