We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, and driven Major Case Intelligence Analyst to join our team
The Major Case Intelligence team is responsible for safeguarding Aviva Canada from fraud and financial crime threats. They play a crucial role in the oversight of threats impacting both our customers and business through investigations and strategic decision-making.
This role responsible for identifying patterns and trends, completing high quality intelligence-based investigations and projects, determining our organizations risk and exposure, then disseminating the information and actions to key stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Build investigation strategy, gather and analyze facts, manage case files, and ensure proper documentation and collection of physical or electronic evidence- Analyze datasets to pro-actively detect new or emerging trends for Aviva Canada- Manage incoming intelligence from internal and external sources; assess Aviva’s exposure, ascertain risk and disseminate to key partners- Use available systems, tools, open-source and social media sites to support fraud investigations to identify key perpetrators and organized crime groups targeting the business- Identify and communicate timely on upcoming fraud trends and risks to ensure the business is aware and taking appropriate steps- Identify fraud and FC detection gaps in existing processes and advance solutions- Support the management of Aviva’s risk from organized claims fraud by maintaining & improving appropriate databases, analysis, and reporting- Collaborate with the internal investigations teams and business stakeholders to establish appropriate scope and identify all leads- Participate in stakeholder meetings, including making recommendations on the disposition of the case- Identify and communicate timely on upcoming fraud trends and risks to ensure the business is aware and taking appropriate steps- Prepare intelligence briefs for defensible investigation- Liaise with other investigative teams, colleagues, and the Claim, Underwriting, Risk and Legal operations- Evaluate evidence sufficiency on an ongoing basis until the validity of the issue(s) in question can be determined
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in an insurance Fraud and Financial Crime investigation’s role with direct exposure to claims and/or underwriting- Evidence experiences in coordinating large cases or projects including strategizing, planning, resourcing, execution and reporting- Ability to risk assess areas of the business for Fraud & FC- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis- Develop trend analysis through data manipulation- Strong reporting and communication Skills- High level of attention to detail- Strong understanding of claims and underwriting processes- Superior analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills- Strong customer service and communication skills- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills- Assertive and comfortable with challenge and ambiguity- Technical knowledge of all insurance lines of business, including policies, claims, and related legislation- Investigative competency to determine strategies and requirements (including legislation)- Ability to make confident and objective decisions in matters having high potential for legal precedent or legal dispute- Bilingualism is an asset- Ability to maintain confidential information
