Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for ensuring that the business is operating effectively and efficiently, maintaining reporting compliance, monitoring internal controls and providing financial information.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Perform all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.

2. Prepare timely monthly financial statements and reports.

3. Support month-end and year-end close process.

4. Participate in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans.

5. Financial Reporting and analysis.

6. Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting.

7. Budgeting and forecasting.

8. Monitor the financial performance of the company.

9. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and administering policies and procedures.

10. Oversee the accounting operation, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the companies’ accounting goals and objectives.

11. Keep up to date on changing accounting standards and professional development.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to gather and analyze data and create recommendations.
- Minimum Education: 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Commerce or Business Administration
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the accounting profession.
- Preferred: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or working towards.

Work Conditions
- Standard workweek, 40 hr Mon-Fri; in office
- After hours/weekend and or excess time may be required.
- Experience in retail or the construction industry an asset.
- Will be performing tasks for two locations
