**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Core Technician **to join our Production team.

The Macassa Mine is a high-grade gold producer, with grade improving at depth, and a key valuation driver for Agnico Eagle. Located in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Macassa Mine remains one of the highest gold grade mines in the world. Macassa commenced operations in 2002, and with the discovery of the South Mine Complex has been able to increase its level of production significantly over the past five years. The mine is located in an area with well-developed infrastructure, including a provincial highway, a railway system and a private airport. High-grade ore is processed at the Macassa Mill, which currently has available capacity and is located in close proximity to the mine.

The **Core Technician** is responsible to support the Production department by processing and sampling/cutting of diamond drill core.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Your responsibilities will include:

- Pickup drill core from headframe/drill site, open boxes and arrange in order;
- Checking then for block footage errors;
- Cut core as per training procedure, checking for QA/QC samples;
- Complete cutting log book/sheet and complete lab analysis form;
- Palletize/dump logged and sampled core boxes;
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times, ensure proper PPE and tools are used for all tasks;
- Operate forklift as per proper training, moving core skids with core or samples and other materials;
- Take part in storing pulps and rejects as required;
- Assist geologists as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Previous experience involved with handling and cutting drill core in a mine or exploration setting;
- Good communication skills, literacy and numeracy skills;
- Self starter with the ability to manage repetitive tasks with mínimal supervision;
- Physically fit with the ability to lift upwards of 55 lbs;
- Proven commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices.
