Reporting to the Parks Services Foreman, the Labourer I position performs a wide variety of work functions within the Parks Business Unit under the Public Works Department. The position uses safe work practices and procedures to carry out assigned tasks and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the work team. The Labourer I promotes the City’s commitment to diversity, inclusions and Truth and Reconciliation within the department, organization and community.

**Responsibilities**:

- Include, but are not limited to:
- Empty garbage receptacles year round from all parks, City Facilities and open spaces.
- Operation of light and medium duty equipment in a safe and efficient manner used in the maintenance of shrub beds, parks, trails, sidewalks and open spaces.
- Ensure that all rules and regulations pertaining to parks and facilities are adhered to.
- Maintain positive public relations and provide assistance and information services to user groups and public.
- Maintenance of shrub beds throughout the City.

**Qualifications**:
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. A current Driver’s Abstract will be required at time of interview.

Hours of Work: 10 hours per day / 40 hours per week
(Monday to Thursday / Tuesday to Friday)

Duration: Immediately to September 22, 2023

This position will remain open until filled.
