Reporting to the Manager of Fleet and Maintenance, this position is responsible for the supervision, planning and scheduling of all resources necessary to carry out Inventory and Work order processes and plans, documents and implementation of improvement strategies. The Supervisor, Transit Inventory will determine, develop and document best practices and procedures required to ensure the most efficient and cost effective overall operation of Transit Inventory and Work Order processes while incorporating Purchasing By-laws, Inventory Management and Control techniques, Asset Management requirements including integration and integrity of CIS modules.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
As the Supervisor, Transit Inventory you will:

- Supervise and oversee work carried out by Technical Stores Representatives and Work Order Technician to ensure it is performed effectively and efficiently and in accordance with town or departmental standards, levels of service, specifications, policies, procedures, a relevant by-laws and legislated requirements.
- Select, motivate, manage and evaluate staff, and schedule work according to priorities; review employee performance on a regular basis, encourage ownership and accountability for their work and the efficient operation of the Inventory/Work Order department, self-monitor quality of their work to ensure consistently outstanding results. Take corrective/disciplinary action, as required.
- Mentor employees to ensure they understand the ‘why’ of what they do and the effects on inventory, finance and other departments when processes are not carried out as designed.
- Train all Technical Stores Representatives and Work Order Technician in Transit Inventory and Work Order best practices and procedures and ensure daily duties become engrained through consistent use.
- Determine, develop, document and communicate appropriate process auditing procedures, reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Determine KPI improvement goals and develop action plans to achieve these goals including root-cause analysis, liaising with other departments at all levels of the organization, reconciliation of several data sources that store asset information to ensure consistency and integrity between systems.
- Daily review, and oversight of CoenCorp Fuel Management system and daily analysis of the Profuel update reporting.
- Lead testing components of inventory and work order management projects, process changes and CIS upgrades through the development of test plans to provide quality assurance and successful implementations including the creation of test scripts, use cases, oversight on user testing efforts, and sign off.
- Ensure successful transition of projects to operations for both business and technical support staff.
- Develop asset management strategies as they relate to inventory, work orders and system/business processes.
- Monitor and ensure efficient operation of Process Fluids dispensing equipment. Coordinate appropriate inside or outside maintenance or improvements as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**How do I qualify?**:
Ideally you have a three year diploma or degree from a recognized institution and a professional accreditation in any of the following areas: Asset Management, Inventory (Material) Management, supply chain management and Control or Finance. Your formal education is augmented by progressively responsible experience at a supervisory level and in-depth knowledge of and experience in Inventory Management and Control, Asset Management, Integrated Systems (JD Edwards) and system implementations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. You have a working knowledge of transit vehicle products & systems, and fuel management. Your education and experience have resulted in outstanding leadership complemented by a highly developed understanding of municipal government and service delivery.
