**Position Summary**:
This full-time, permanent position will provide support and assistance to Integrated Infrastructure Services (IIS) with meeting OHS legislation and building a safety culture through the developing and implementing practices and processes that demonstrate due diligence. This position is dedicated to supporting IIS, a decision unit within Infrastructure, that provides maintenance and construction projects for schools in the Division undertaken by both internal staff and external contractors.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- reviewing the current initiative of the EPS contractor management program for external contractors and updating, revising and maintaining the program
- collaborating with project staff and external contractors related to OHS safety plans and risk assessments for high risk projects
- ensuring that industry best practices related to OHS are implemented and monitored
- working collaboratively with OHS colleague(s) to investigate incidents, monitor trends and follow up on corrective actions
- supporting the department to ensure OHS plans are integrated with the Division’s plans, legislative obligations and preventative systems and strategies to reduce workplace risk and incidents
- responding to requests for services from administrators, health and safety committees and Union representatives by providing expertise relative to technical information and advice
- collaborating with the OHS team in the development of internal communication materials that promote OHS awareness and compliance
- participating in the development of Division and worksite specific health and safety training program and deliver in-services
- assisting with the administration of programs that support the early and safe return to work of injured or ill employees

**Education/Qualifications**:

- high school plus two-year post-secondary program
- Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
- a minimum of three years of related experience
- extensive knowledge of applicable legislation, trends and practices
- excellent communication and collaboration skills
- ability to negotiate successful outcomes
- working knowledge of construction trades in a unionized environment

**Rate of Pay**:
$3,090.50 - $3,948.70 bi-weekly
