We are currently seeking a **Electrical Superintendent** to join our team. This is a full time permanent role at our Atlantic Operations Touquoy mine in Middle Musquodoboit. Reporting to the Mill Manager, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operations of developing and overseeing the maintenance plans for the facility.

**The Opportunity**:

- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
- Promoting & fostering Company goals & objectives with all maintenance activities.
- Identifying safety issues and encourage a site safe work culture with safety being top priority.
- Effectively managing and working with diverse personalities. Providing coaching and guidance to front-line supervisors and their tradespersons.
- Developing daily, weekly, monthly, and longer-term maintenance plans and providing management with the budget and human resource requirements to meet the objectives.
- Serving as a project manager for maintenance shutdowns and identify opportunities for capital improvements.
- Liaising with the mill maintenance planner and actively participate in planning major shutdowns.
- Overseeing and providing advanced diagnostics for faults and malfunctions.
- Working with purchasing and the warehouse to identify and source critical parts and consumables and ensure adequate stock.
- Encouraging your team to discuss complex problems and develop solutions. Utilizing continuous improvement and reliability centered maintenance techniques.
- Working with the engineering department to start Justifications for Capital (JFC’s).
- Hire contractors for specialized maintenance work and vacation coverage.

- A personal commitment to behavior consistent with St Barbara's Values including honesty and behavior consistent with St Barbara's Values.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Current unencumbered Class 5 Drivers License.
- Red Seal status or P.Eng designation with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- At Least 5 years relevant electrical maintenance experience.
- Committed to Continuous Improvement and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Prepared to discuss complex problems and solutions in a team environment.
- Able to use a computer effectively-automated maintenance programs and Microsoft Office.
- Able to determine and document Root Cause of Failure.
- Familiarity with Arc Flash and workplace electrical safety standards.
- Experience with motor control centres, electrical rooms and electrical equipment.
