**Reports to**: Community Engagement Coordinator

**Position Summary**:
The Community Pantry Volunteer position is an excellent opportunity for a volunteer looking to get more involved in food security and the DTES community. The volunteer will provide weekly support to the Community Pantry for participants in Mission Possible’s Employment Readiness Program.

The volunteer will be responsible for weekly supply runs to stock the pantry. They will engage with participants accessing the Community Pantry hour in a respectful and welcoming manner and will communicate any issues to the Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC). They will also share information about other food security resources provided by the CEC. The volunteer should be prepared to safely lift up to 20 lbs.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Pick up Community Pantry supplies from the GVFB CAP Market (Thornton location)
- Unload supplies and set up the Community Pantry at the Mission Possible office
- Oversee the Community Pantry hour
- Ensure fair and equal access to items in the pantry
- Encourage and model professional conduct during the Community Pantry hour
- Report any issues or incidents to the CEC
- Promote any additional food security resources shared by the CEC
- Ensure a safe and positive environment is maintained at all times

**Prefered Qualifications**
- Class 5 driver’s license required
- Available Fridays 9 am - 1 pm
- Able to lift boxes up to 20 lbs
- Criminal record check
- Access to a vehicle is an asset
- Food Safe Level 1 is an asset
- Experience working in the DTES is an asset
