**Your Opportunity**:
Under the direction of the Women & Children’s Program Director, the Central Zone Women & Children’s CNE is an expert, self-motivated clinician who exhibits leadership qualities. The CNE is responsible for planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of educational activities for perinatal nursing and support staff throughout the zone. This includes, but is not limited to: orientation, compulsory education programs, clinical development and continuing education. The CNE is responsible for delivery of programs based on identified needs which include legislation/accreditation, continued competency development, quality and safety improvement, strategic planning and objectives related to organizational and operational needs. The incumbent works collaboratively with counterparts at other Alberta Health Services acute care sites. The work includes orientation, clinical content development and continuing education focusing primarily on the care of hospitalized antepartum and laboring women and their newborn infants. The incumbent participates in review and development of regional clinical policies and practice guidelines. As a practicing professional, the CNE is expected to work collaboratively with other CNEs as well as other CNEs from Women’s Health Departments across Central Zone and within Alberta Health Services This position will assist in the development of zone orientation, ongoing skill development and is required to travel to rural sites within Central Zone to support orientation and skill development. This position will work with local MOREOB Core Teams to build capacity and support site-based quality improvement. This position will work with stakeholders within the program to develop resources and processes to support ongoing professional development of our teams.

**Description**:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). **Additional Required Qualifications**:
5 years recent (within the last 2 years) rural experience in obstetrical/newborn care required. Previous experience caring for patients with perinatal losses required. Labour and Delivery and Postpartum experience as a CNE required. Fetal Health Surveillance Instructor Course Required. NRP Provider course required. WISE course preferred. Experience in curriculum development, planning and implementation required. Central Zone site visits will be a requirement of this position and frequency will be based on site needs and ability to support MOREOB core teams to develop.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Fetal Health Surveillance Instructor certification preferred. NRP Instructor certification preferred. WISE course preferred. Experience with Esim facilitation and development preferred. A master’s degree in nursing preferred.
