About Us

Sr. Configuration Management Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Configuration & Data Management, the Configuration Management Specialist implements effective configuration management policies, processes and procedures while ensuring that OSI Maritime Systems software, hardware and document releases are properly maintained as design artifacts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and support the CM discipline and OSI Maritime Systems for the entire life cycle of systems, and products from initial requirements / capabilities baselines to end-of-life status.
- Will use advanced CM tools (PDXpert) and follow defined CM processes, to collect and ensure highly complex design artifacts are properly controlled.
- Experience implementing and supporting effective Policies, processes / procedures and plans in hardware and software development environments.
- Will be expected to participate, and often lead configuration change board (CCB) reviews, and interact with multi-disciplined teams (Systems Engineering, Software and Hardware Engineering, Production, Supply Chain).
- Will be expected to support the processes for and publish results of CCB, engineering review board, and change implementation board reviews.
- Support and or leading physical configuration audits(PCA) of highly complex Integrated Navigation Bridge Systems will be a primary function
- Perform change control and configuration audits, and support document control functions when required
- Creates accurate audit records, and documents evidence of all audits performed accurately within QMS databases
- High attention to detail and engineering aptitude, referring to engineering drawings, product datasheets, product descriptions, across a wide variety of product types, this includes complex data systems access and usage (PDXpert / PLM)
- May be asked to develop new processes, or support a team to develop new processes to achieve company objectives and goals.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, CMMI, or similar QMS standards.

DECISION MAKING & AUTHORITY
- The Configuration Management Specialist will have the authority to make objective decisions on artifact conformity / suitability as related to established Configuration Management processes, and may raise and report concerns on any determined lapses to the Manager, Configuration & Data Management.

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized university degree, technical diploma, or technologist with preference given to direct experience in Configuration Management (CM), PLM Methods or Product Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Manufacturing, Aeronautics, Automotive or related industry.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in a Configuration Management, or equivalent role
- Certifications in Configuration Management disciplines is highly beneficial (CMII, CICM, CISCM, CCMP, C649P etc.)
- Direct experience in Marine, Shipbuilding, Military or similar industries is highly beneficial
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative and an ability to organize daily tasks with mínimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
