**Description**

The **VP Communications & Community Engagement** is currently seeking a Full-time Regular **Partnership Specialist**.

Reporting to the Director, Community or Director Industry Partnerships, the Partnership Specialist plays an integral role in development of partnerships and programs in support of the university's overall community and industry engagement efforts to deepen the impact of the university. All work is aimed at fostering strong, mutually beneficial connections between the university, the community and industry.

The Partnership Specialist is responsible for community and/or industry partnership program planning, execution, and evaluation. The incumbent will provide insight and input, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the Office of Partnerships to identify, develop, and steward strategic community and industry partnerships in support of the university's strategies and objectives.

The Partnership Specialist will connect with industry, for-profit organizations, community, cultural and non-profit organizations, think tanks, and community volunteer committees. Working with internal university partners from across campus is a critical component of the work.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Identify, nurture, and sustain strategic partnerships with key community organizations.
- Prepare proposals, engagement plans and other documents for programs and projects.
- Provide input and direction to partnership strategic planning and programming, including contributing to the partnership strategy and plan.
- Actively work on strategies to promote strategic partner development, community engagement, problem solving and following through as appropriate to ensure positive outcomes for all partners.
- Act as point of contact for the community or industry in responding to requests.
- Adhere to best practices of community engagement and partnership management.
- Build, nurture, sustain and leverage internal and external relationships to support existing and new program and partnership development.
- Work closely with colleagues in Alumni, Community and Partnerships, and collaborate with colleagues in Advancement, and with faculties and units university-wide.
- Develop collegial, positive, high trust working relationships with students, faculty, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Manage program teams and project management pieces (program charters, work plans, meeting agendas, etc.).
- Create detailed outlines and critical paths to manage timelines and monitor progress while adhering to project management best practices.
- Support planning and development of engagement plans and events, and ensure alignment with university objectives.
- Ensure communications, marketing and promotional plans are developed and successfully executed for partnership priorities.
- Administer the day-to-day operations for partner involved programs and community engagement initiatives.
- Foster a service-oriented approach.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating partnership initiatives and programs using demonstrated skills in evaluation.
- Develop and manage budgets for programs, partnerships, campaigns and oversee expenditures.
- Prepare and analyze reports on programs, partnership development and relationship management.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of program, partnership, and engagement initiatives.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in the social sciences, public relations or related field.
- Minimum five years of recent relevant experience.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Proven ability to identify, develop and broker strategic relationships at an organizational level.
- Skillfully manage program/project teams involved in partnership initiatives and activities.
- Strong time and fiscal management, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Experience with relationship management software would be an asset.
- Annual partnership planning and execution is required.
- Diplomacy, foresight, and sound judgment are key.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a large, complex, and dynamic organization.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Director, Community Partnerships or Director, Industry Partnerships.
