ABOUT THE ROLE:
Creating and maintaining a positive hospital culture is a critical part of this role. The Practice Manager will champion a workplace environment that fosters teamwork, inclusivity, and mutual respect. By prioritizing employee well-being and cultivating a collaborative atmosphere, they will ensure the team is motivated, engaged, and empowered to deliver exceptional care.

Some responsibilities include:

- Oversee smooth and efficient operations of the hospital; this includes scheduling for the needs of the business while ensuring patient and client care are a priority.
- Recruit, train, and motivate staff while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Handle human resource issues when they arise and escalate when needed.
- Work with Veterinarians and Leadership Team to create and execute the vision for the hospital, ensuring alignment with a positive team dynamic.
- Help grow the clinics in both revenue and new clientele.
- Create action plans for the hospital and staff to maximize success while emphasizing team collaboration and well-being.
- Prepare regular reports on a weekly/month basis.

AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:

- An abiding love of animals and a deep understanding of the human/animal bond.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a management role, including having direct reports and accountability; preferably in the veterinary, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or healthcare industry.
- Experience with revenue and labour budgets; drafting/managing schedules.
- Good management and leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, delegate, motivate, and develop the hospital and team to become top performers in the community.
- A proven ability to foster and maintain a positive hospital culture, encouraging respect, open communication, and teamwork among all staff members.
- An approach that puts the patients & client first at all times.
- An experienced people manager, who has hired, trained, and held people accountable for their performance.
- Developed emotional intelligence to be able to contain emotional situations around the hospital and address them with empathy.
- Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships.
- Collaboration skills demonstrating a strong desire to build rapport and solid relationships with team members, clients, and the community.
- Financial skills to understand the needs of the business and the importance of growing revenues and controlling expenses.
- Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude are a must.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
