- Post-secondary diploma from college or university in a justice related field or demonstrated equivalent experience

- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and Gladue Principles
- Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture
- Valid class "G "Drivers License and own reliable vehicle
- CPIC and vulnerable sector clearance

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Attend bail court (virtually and in person)

Liaise with Duty Counsel, Defense counsel, Crown Attorney and Judiciary.

Interview in-custody individuals attending Simcoe County bail court, obtain and verify information in order to create a bail plan (using Gladue principles) and, where appropriate, advocate for release.

Develop and customize personal bail supervision plans for those approved by the court for release to the community that meet their needs to address healing/wellness and recidivism; case manage referral to both internal and external services, monitor success, manage barriers to completion.

Participate in bail hearing as required and ability to be able to speak to bail plan if called upon by Crown or Justice of the Peace.

Liaise with BNFC staff to provide additional support services for clients in the Bail program.

Work with BNFC Justice Programs to obtain information on common clients (i.e. wrap-around case management as needed).

Maintain regular communication with other Bail verification and supervision programs (both Indigenous and main-stream). Ensure that documented printed resource materials are available to agencies and provide option for in-person/virtual training opportunities.

Conduct and document weekly one on one bail supervision meetings.

When necessary, facilitate breach protocol.

Adhere to MAG standards and statistical reporting requirements.

Keep statistical records and case notes of all contacts made with the clients and other agencies on their behalf.

Support other BNFC Justice Team members as required and participate in Justice Team meetings and planning sessions.
