**Wage Range**: $17-19/hour
**Department**: The Green Room
**Hours**: 20-40hrs/w

**Purpose**:
You will be a first contact for Youth and Event Planning within The Green Room youth program

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
Support The Green Room to develop and implement our summer programming, including our monthly Outspoken series, Cityscapes, and other events and programming. Work closely with Green Room staff to design and logístically prepare for and set up events, collaborate with the team to ensure the highest quality attendee experience, assist with promotion, and provide logístical and attendee support during programming. Other tasks include (but are not limited to) the design and development of relevant resources, exploring and developing partnerships, as well as recommending and exploring new and creative youth projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend weekly meetings with The Green Room team.
- Collaborate with The Green Room team to develop programs, supports and services that support meaningful dialogue, connection and growth.
- Attend The Green Room events and programming and provide logístical support and contribute to an atmosphere that is welcoming.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a passion to support Muslim youth and young adults.
- Meet agreed upon deadlines.
- Other duties as required

**Work Plan**:
The Green Room’s schedule revolves around our on-going events and programs. One week’s focus may shift in parts from one program to another. However, here is an example of what your week might look like.

Monday
- Share and receive updates on Green Room programing and events from fellow team members
- Meet 1:1 with Youth Wellness Manager

Tuesday
- Meet with Clinical Team to learn more about current mental health programs and update them on current Green Room projects
- Research local initiatives and resources relevant and available to Muslim youth in Edmonton.

Wednesday
- Meet with The Green Room team to design and develop a youth event.
- Develop and explore your own idea for an event or resource that The Green Room may consider

Thursday
- Attend an event or meeting with relevant partners to explore community supports and needs, as well as promote our programming.

Friday
- Set up and attend a Green Room event. This may include logístical set up, greeting attendees, participating in activities, and helping to clean up after the event.

**EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 1-3 years of hands-on experience with event planning and facilitation.
- Experience or education related to youth is an asset
- Heightened awareness on the importance of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
- Awareness of and openness to the diverse cultural and personal expressions of Muslim faith and identity.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Notion, Google Drive, and Slack are advantages but not necessary
- You are curious, passionate and a problem solver.
