Sales & Catering Coordinator

Under the guidance and supervision of the General Manager, the **Sales & Catering Coordinator** will be the primary contact for all Hotel Sales & Catering inquiries with a responsibility to provide coordination and implementation of sales and revenue initiatives to meet and exceed the goals of the Hotel and the guest experience.

Responsibilities include contacting and responding to all Sales & Catering inquiries. This role will also work closely with the Guest Services Manager in supporting the Front Desk operations. This individual will maintain a high standard of service focus while playing a liaison role between guests and other departments by correspondence, telephone or directly in person.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supports General Manager with various communication and report generation
- Champion Hotel and guest experience initiatives and programs to ensure that all Hotel targets are met and exceeded
- Provides daily administrative support including preparing Sales & Catering contracts and Proposals
- Provides daily support to guest inquiries, in a professional and timely basis
- Practices professional account qualification, (date flexibility, space requirements, history, and competitive information)
- Send out weekly reporting of catering schedule
- Respond to requests for bids, create and submit bids with Hotel BLU contracting
- Research and coordinate availability and pricing for accommodation, meeting and function space
- Execute appropriate follow-up to sales leads, tracing and updating all bookings as required
- Provide support and coordination of hotel events, i.e. familiarization tours, client events, sales calls
- Develop new and maintain existing customers base through a combination of effective inside and outside sales calls
- Assist with customer contact on a regular basis (thank you letters, sites, promotional gifts, etc.
- Establish and maintain appropriate filing system of accounts
- Consistently schedule inside/outside sales calls each week (Corporate Accounts, Prospects)
- Coverage and support of Front Office operations as required

Job Requirements
- Individual must possess exceptional attention to detail
- Displays a commitment to quality guest service at all times
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Takes initiative to solve standard problems
- Adapts content, style, tone and medium of communication, providing the right information at the right time
- Able to assist Front Office operations when required

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Hotel Management and/or Business Administration or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a guest service position: Front Office/Reservations an asset
- Experience in preparing RFP’s (Request for Proposal) and group contracts
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, time management with an ability to multitask & meet deadlines in a high pressure work environment
- Computer Skills - Demonstrated ability with regard to computer skills, including advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite, Opera and generating graphic materials.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in producing professional business documents and communications.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40,004.01-$55,682.10 per year
