We are seeking a collaborative, empowering and supportive leader and coach, who will be accountable for managing the College’s activities related to the continuous professional learning of members, including policy, programs, information and resource development for member support. The incumbent will be a member of the College’s Senior Management Team and will contribute to the strategic direction and ongoing operational improvements of the Professional Practice Department.

Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the key areas of responsibility are to:

- Manage the operations of the Professional Practice Department and ensure connections with other units / departments where there are interdependencies.
- Coach, manage and mentor direct reports, including recruitment and selection, training, evaluation and performance reviews.
- Provide legislative / regulatory policy advice and guidance to employees regarding professional practice functions (e.g., CPL Program policy and program implementation, member education, ethical and professional standards, quality assurance).
- Receive and resolve escalated CPL Program, compliance issues, and inquiries from members and employers.
- Monitor and review CPL non-compliance cases and processes (e.g., volumes, workflow, communications, documentation) to ensure timely, consistent and fair processing of CPL compliance matters (e.g., confirmations of compliance, deferrals, suspensions, reinstatements, compliance audits).
- Plan and develop communications to members and stakeholders regarding changes in CPL Program policies and procedures, and professional practice guidance.
- Contribute to the development of short and long-term strategic plans for the Department by identifying emerging trends and opportunities for ongoing process improvements.
- Manage the collection, monitoring, analysis and reporting of data to: monitor trends; measure the effectiveness of the Department’s operations; identify process improvements; provide information for budget / audit purposes and make recommendations on changes to process, procedures and technology needs.
- Operationalize new policy direction as set out by Council. Provide operational advice, assistance, and support to employees regarding best practices and implementation of new policies and initiatives.
- Manage the provision of logístical (e.g., committee dates, virtual and hybrid formats) and administrative support (e.g., preparation of meeting materials and presentations) for the College’s Standards of Practice Committee.
- Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Four-year college or university program.
- 5 to 7 years experience including experience in management and a regulatory setting.
- Understanding of, or experience with, the early learning and care sector and/or RECE designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of the _Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007_ and familiarity with the College Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Strategic thinking, planning, vision and leadership skills to work collaboratively at a senior level to develop and implement strategic directions and provide effective operational oversight.
- Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify issues, mitigate against associated risk, and lead the resolution of complex issues related to professional practice and compliance activities.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced changing environment as a collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative.
- Interpersonal, presentation, stakeholder relationship and management skills to engage others and build credibility.
- Written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coaching and management skills to motivate and develop employees and team members.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
