**Position Information**:
The Safety Assistant, Respiratory Protection Program will support health and safety management systems at the Hospital through respirator fit testing and maintenance of the Respiratory Protection Program.

Duties will include:

- Coordinating and conducting respirator fit testing in various locations;
- Educating staff on the safe use of Respiratory personal protective equipment (N95, half face and full-face respirators) during fit testing;
- Data Entry of fit testing results;
- Maintaining fit testing equipment and fit testing inventory;
- Generating reports on employee fit test status
- Developing training material and resources to support Respiratory Protection Program;
- Assisting in the development of training materials, promotional materials, tools, processes, procedures, and documents;
- Scheduling departmental initiatives;
- Participating in hazard working groups;
- Assists with other tasks as needed to support TOH's health and safety management system.

**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hours shifts.

**What you will bring**:

- One (1) year Community College in Administration, Business or related field;
- One (1) year clerical experience;
- Knowledge of hospital policies, rules and regulations;
- Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
- Ability to communicate and deal congenially with people;
- Ability to organization and maintain superior document management systems;
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet changing and tight deadlines;
- Ability to pay close attention to detail when writing letters, reports and other correspondence;
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary meetings.

**You will stand out with**:

- Ability to communicate in both official languages (preferred but not essential)
- Possess Occupational Health and Safety diploma or certificate;
- Knowledge of Datix, Parklane, and ORACLE software (HRIS, ELM, eBusiness Suite);
- Experience working in an occupational safety-related position.
