Employee Benefit Funds Administration Ltd. (EBFA) is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 to provide administrative services to multi-employer pension, health and welfare and education trust funds. EBFA oversees the Health and Welfare benefits of approximately 5,300 electricians. The benefits include dental, vision, supplemental health, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, as well as short and long term disability benefits.

Receptionist/Claims Clerk

**Summary**

The Receptionist/Claims Clerk, under the direction of the Claim Coordinator and Benefit Services Manager, will represent EBFA professionally as a first point of contact for Plan Members, service providers and general public. The Receptionist/Claims Clerk assists other members of the EBFA team to deliver superior customer service to Plan Members. This position also performs some claims processing with opportunities for further claims administration training.

**Responsibilities**
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and navigating Windows Explorer.
- Inputting all incoming documents into a document management system
- Adjudicate Health and Welfare claims, including preparation of payments.
- Research and investigate claims and benefit related issues.
- Accurately and efficiently enter and maintain data from sources such as the Registration and Declaration of Beneficiary Form.
- Administrative tasks, including maintaining daily mail and call counts, scanning documents, mailing, filing, faxing, and photocopying.
- Assist other staff with inter-department processes and inquiries.
- Other duties, as required.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum of one year of employment as a receptionist or similar role.
- Employee benefit experience preferred.
- Superior customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to be self-managed, with a positive and energetic attitude.
- Detail oriented.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient drafting basic correspondence, including memos, letters, etc.
- Able to meet changing work needs and demands.
- Strong knowledge of general office procedures.
- Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases.
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills. Detail oriented.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment operation such as photocopier and fax machine.

**Compensation**

Hourly rate starting at $22.85 per hour.
