We comprise seven distinct integrated business groups representing the following key disciplines: Mineral Processing, Mineral Science, Pyrometallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Process Simulation & Modelling, Process Control and Materials Technology.

The **Vice President, XPS**, holds a crucial position reporting to the Head of Global Nickel Assets and assumes a vital role within the Nickel executive team. Charged with the task of safeguarding both profitability and the core values that define the Glencore business, this role is pivotal in steering business operations towards success.

In this capacity, the incumbent will assume all aspects of planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the comprehensive spectrum of the XPS business activities. This includes the operational strategic oversight, ensuring business efficiency is maximized, and cost-effective systems are established. By doing so, the Vice President, XPS will address both immediate and future organizational requirements.

The Vice President, XPS, will play a pivotal role in shaping the path forward, aligning operational strategies with overarching business objectives. Leadership will be instrumental in maintaining the XPS business’s reputation for excellence and its adherence to core values.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day XPS business activities;
- Define and implement XPS business strategy, structure, and processes to maintain a self-sustaining Glencore asset;
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities;
- Site compliance with Group policies/standards and local legal requirements, and provide assurance through reporting for health & safety performance, environmental and business compliance;
- Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions;
- Maintain a working knowledge of all XPS business activities;
- Provide guidance, direction, mentorship and development to the XPS Group leads;
- Work closely with Human Resources to implement and refine company policies and procedures;
- Actively promote and develop the XPS business both internal and external to Glencore;
- Monitoring the competitive landscape and attending industry events to stay abreast of new initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills
- A degree in metallurgical, chemical engineering or related degree including post-graduate studies in a technical discipline and/or related experience;
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in technical and managerial roles in the mining industry with different productive process and various commodities and holding an engineering license;
- Recognized as a technical expert in one or more fields relevant to XPS (Extractive metallurgy, Materials & Maintenance, Mineral Processing, Process Modelling, Mineralogy & Geometallurgy, Process Control & A.I.)
- Strong leadership, strategic planning and management skills;
- An acute business sense and entrepreneurial spirit;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Multilingual is considered an asset;
- Experience in budgeting, estimating and scheduling with financial skills.
