Do you have a knack for technology? Are you at your best when supporting others? Are you someone who could multi-task in a rapid and fast moving environment? We're looking for someone like that to:

- Be a part of our WM Canada IT Business Application Support team in Toronto
- Interact very closely with front office users and associated Operations teams covering all of Canada
- You would have a high level of day to day interaction with the business stakeholders at all levels
- Diagnose system problems, define and co-ordinate the implementation of solutions individually and with other development and support teams
- Coordinate with different internal teams and/or external parties to conduct and manage special events such as BCP tests, infrastructure change weekends, data Centre maintenance
- Promote the overall stability of the systems through system monitoring and implementation of best practices to maintain production environment
- working knowledge within an infrastructure with continual process improvement management

Batch process in summary:

- To connect to Sybase and execute sql procedure and respond back
- Some jobs call to produce Chrystal reports and to save reports
- BCP jobs to sync prod with DR. Basically in and out data: retrieve tables and load it to our BCP
- Sending/receiving files to different systems
- There is also nighty checklist. This is currently manual such as stopping/starting/monitoring services that need to be automatedSkills
Must have
- Experience with REX or other scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, batch
- Sybase experience
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Ability to support and deliver a high-quality service to the business
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent/conflicting priorities.
- Self-driven, highly motivated and have very high standards concerning quality of service delivered and attention to detail, where they lead by example and expect the same behavior of other colleagues.
- Solid Windows knowledge, Linux knowledge is a plus.
- Basic knowledge in relational databases ( Oracle) / query (SQL)
- a confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences
- capable of understanding client/end-user issues and translating this into problem statement for further investigations within IT
- experience in production system monitoring and scheduling tools
- comfortable working independently, as well as in a team-oriented environmentNice to have
- ideally 5+ years of experience within a Production environment hosted on Windows

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
