**Job Title**:Regional Project Manager - Southern Alberta Medical Program (UofL/UofC)
**Location**: Lethbridge, AB

**PURPOSE**:
Reporting to the Regional Lead, the Regional Project Manager (Southern Alberta Medical Program) will be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the Southern Alberta Medical Program (SAMP). This position works closely with the Provost’s Office at University of Lethbridge (UofL), and the offices of Undergraduate Medical Education and Distributed Learning and Rural Initiatives in the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) at the University of Calgary (UofC).

The Project Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure the timely development and implementation of key project milestones. This role supports and ensures ongoing and efficient communications among and between the SAMP implementation working groups. This role requires a professional with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, as well as a deep understanding of medical education, post-secondary governance, policies, and procedures.

**MAIN**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Under the direction of the Regional Lead, develop and operationalize a comprehensive implementation plan for the Southern Alberta Medical Program.
- Support the identification and development of teaching infrastructure considering accessibility, infrastructure, rural and remote training opportunities and other essential factors such as community and hospital locations.
- Assist in the development, modification, and materials resourcing for training and educational facilities including classrooms, clinics and clinical training sites, laboratories, libraries, and residential facilities for students within available resourcing.
- Collaborates with medical leads to ensure Southern medical program initiatives are in alignment with both the CSM and UofL’s goals and the University’s Strategic Plan.
- Establishes productive relationships across UofL and UofC operational units including UofL Office of the Provost and Vice President Academic, UofC Office of the Dean of the CSM, Student Affairs, Facilities, Campus Safety, Health and Wellness, Ancillary Services, Library, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Science.
- Facilitates and supports UofC and UofL leadership in presenting proposals, recommendations, reports, and other documents through the universities’ governance systems.
- Maintain regular and adequate communication with internal and external partners to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment and support for the project.
- Manage, and support program implementation working groups. Participate on committee(s)/subcommittee(s) relevant to program development and implementation.
- Under the direction of the Regional Lead, support the development of the long - term program budget, ensuring cost estimates are accurate, and resources are allocated effectively.
- Monitor program implementation expenditures and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and support Regional Lead as they explore various funding sources, including government funding, private donors, trust funds and partnerships.
- Create and curate materials required for the project, including but not limited to draft proposals, working group and committee reports, and supporting documents.
- Work closely with Undergraduate Medical Education leads to ensure compliance with all relevant local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to the establishment and operation of a medical campus.
- Collaborate with accreditation leads at the UofC to ensure the project complies with all relevant accreditation requirements (including, but not limited to, CACMS accreditation standards)
- Support Regional Lead in identifying potential risks associated with the development and implementation of a regional medical campus and communicating risk mitigation considerations.
