**Manager, Investigations - Income Services Investigation Unit (ISIU)**

The position will provide management support to the provincial investigation locations, including Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Edmonton. The Manager is a critical part of the Provincial Investigation Unit and is responsible for the prevention, detection and resolution of potential fraud and program abuse of Community and Social Services benefit programs in accordance with the Government Acts and Regulations.

Reporting to the Director of the Investigations Unit, the Manager, Investigations is the first line management level of the Income Services Investigation Unit, that provides management planning and direction in the delivery of the investigation services to all provincial investigation locations under a consistent provincial investigation framework model to ensure the provision of effective and efficient investigation services and support to Alberta Community & Social Services (CSS).

The Manager, also fosters and maintains strong collaborative working relationships with its key stakeholders, including local geographic delivery services management teams/regional management teams under programs such as the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Income Support (IS) and any other CSS benefit programs or areas as needed to ensure compliance with government policies.

This position liaises extensively with law enforcement and also municipal, provincial and federal investigative agencies to develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship.

**Qualifications**:
University Degree in related field (Social Sciences, Investigation, Criminology, etc.) plus several years of investigational experience (fraud, theft, etc.)

**Equivalency**
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
1 year education for 1-year experience;
Or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education

**Other Requirements**

Ability to obtain Peace Officer appointment under the Alberta Police Act and Alberta Peace Officer Act

**Assets**
- Major Case Management (MCM) experience
- Proficient in the use of analytical software (Excel)
- Proficient in the use of electronic File Management (FACTS)
- Experience using practices and processes within the Criminal Justice Program
- Experience of Courtroom Procedure and Laws of Evidence
- Experience using Legislative Authorities including the SCSS Policy and Regulations and the Criminal Code of Canada and Canada Evidence Act
- Experience Of Diversity and Multicultural issues

**Salary**:
$3,100.80 to $4,172.77 bi-weekly/ $80,930.88 to $ 108,909.297 yearly
