**POSITION OVERVIEW**
As a Records Coordinator, you will play a vital role in integrating department records into our corporate records management system. Reporting to the Manager of Records and Information Management, your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with records retention regulations, recommending appropriate records classification and retention schedules, and developing and delivering training sessions to ensure effective utilization of the system across departments. Additionally, your expertise will be instrumental in recommending optimal systems and security measures to safeguard our critical data assets. Your passion for knowledge-sharing will shine as you develop engaging training materials and conduct enlightening sessions to empower our teams in utilizing the records management system effectively. This role requires considerable independent judgment and action within established policies and procedures, with support from supervisors for more complex matters.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
Grade 12 supplemented by a certificate in records management plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Considerable knowledge of the corporate records classification system and related information management principles and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the work.
- Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic and of modern office practices and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of corporate departmental functions in relation to the work performed.
- Some knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Ability to coordinate the integration of records into the corporate records management system and recommend appropriate classification, retention schedules and security groups.
- Ability to advise departments on established records management procedures, develop training and user materials, and deliver training.
- Ability to search records for information.
- Ability to prepare, maintain and control a variety of records related to the work.
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the work such as bending, lifting boxes, and climbing ladders.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous public body experience
- Certified Records Manager certification
