**Position Summary**
We are looking for a Packaging Development Manager based at our North York Office, reporting to the Senior Manager Packaging Development. This role will be responsible for the design and execution of all levels of packaging for innovation, renovation, sustainability, and cost savings initiatives.

**A day in the life of a Packaging Development Manager**:

- Work with producing Markets and Co-Manufacturers to develop packaging meeting consumer needs, customer specifications, factory capabilities, and within cost.
- Ensure packaging meets the Nestle safety & compliance, sustainability requirements and Negative List
- Lead & document packaging factory trials to ensure new or renovated packaging can run with the expected efficiencies & results.
- Organize laboratory & transportation tests for validation of new packaging & changes in specifications.
- Trouble shoot packaging issues when they arise.
- Investigate, present, and lead packaging cost savings with cross functional team.
- Lead and support projects from the sustainability roadmap for your business
- Ensure that new packaging meets quality requirements, i.e., shelf life, CDN government & Nestle regulatory requirements.
- Manage technical relationships with relevant suppliers.
- Travel to production start-ups and trials when necessary

**What will make you successful?**

You will also:

- Bachelor Science, Degree in packaging science, engineering equivalent, or in a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in the packaging field, preferably in the consumer facing food industry (CPG).
- Broad packaging component knowledge and experience in rigid, flexibles and fiber packaging
- Understanding of & experience in the package development process of innovation/renovation
- Ability to prioritize and manage time when leading and participating in multiple projects.
- Have Business knowledge and understanding of basic financials, marketing, and operations.
- A solid general understanding of project management with the ability to communicate key project activities, their order, impacts and importance to meeting project timelines.
- Collaborates with others to do what is best for the company as a whole; works toward shared goals.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, team environment with mínimal direct supervision
- Strong communication skills where technical messaging is simplified for the non-technical audience.
- Problem Solving mindset; Go-See Think Do, DMAIC, Lean
- Knowledge in hygienic engineering, HACCP
- Admin knowledge: Globe SAP, Excel, CAPE, PowerPoint, Word
