The Program Manager, Community Studies is responsible for the strategic planning, academic quality, scheduling, interacting with students, enrolment management, bridging to College services and operations of the portfolio, which includes the delivery of a diverse mix of the CICE and Career Pathways programs.
Management of the portfolio includes overseeing academic activities including scheduling; filling shifts for a staff of Learning Facilitators, hiring and recruitment, academic experience courses/delivery, and bridging to college services. All full-time and part-time support staff will report directly to the Program Manager.
The Program Manager, provides administrative and operational support for course/program delivery, assisting the Associate Dean with the recruitment and support of faculty and support staff, forecasting and monitoring projected resource needs and networking with college departments, School Boards, the community and stakeholders to identify opportunities, service gaps and needs.
**What you’ll be doing**:
**Academic Leadership**
- ** **In consultation with the Associate Dean, initiates, leads and manages annual and multi-year plans and projects to enhance service deliveries and department operations.
- In consultation with the Dean, Associate Dean and Operations Manager, ensuring the effective use of staffing resources, reallocating resources appropriately as necessary.
- Manages all full-time and part-time CICE and Career pathways support staff.
- Oversight of scheduling support staff and filling shifts as required in CICE and Career Pathways programs.
- Ongoing hiring for support staff positions, especially for the role of Learning Facilitator.
- Liaison with College & Students services (Student Rights & Responsibilities Office (SRRO), counseling, ALS, security, residence, etc.) to support inclusion of CICE and Career Pathways students across campus.
- Oversight of the academic experience courses/delivery for the CICE program.
- Working within the collective agreement, orienting and supporting faculty and support staff.
- Onboarding full-time and part-time support staff in CICE and Career Pathways programs, through the delivery of multi-faceted training including Mohawk College policies and procedures, processes and systems, CTLI supports, MyCanvas, etc.
- In collaboration with the Associate Dean, ensuring students adhere to college policies (Academic Dishonest, Rights and Responsibilities, Student Conduct, IT).
- Supporting Academic coordinators to manage student behaviours and expectations and ensure all College policies are followed.
- Supporting the implementation and execution of quality assurance and development initiatives for service deliveries and academic programs.
- Representing Mohawk College and the Department at various Committees.
**Growth and Development**
- ** **Contribute to the strategic growth and development of post-secondary programs.
- Develop detailed program financial forecasts, business cases and formal proposals for service delivery revision or new programming.
- Engaging in networking, outreach and negotiation to registration growth in the CICE and Career Pathways programs. Network with academic areas and programs to plan and implement academic experience courses for students.
- Network with college and student services to develop effective practices to support student across campus.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:
- ** **A minimum four year Honours degree, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience which includes industry specific work experience and experience with learning management system(s), and adaptive technology, and human resources management.
- Five years experience in developmental services.
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management.
- Strong skills in supporting learners with diverse needs to self-regulate and minimize potential behavioural disruptions.
- Strong ability to handle multiple assignments at one time.
- Strong critical and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer services skills (verbal and written).
