**General Description of the Role**

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a forklift to load and unload trucks, pick customer orders, and transport packaging materials and finished product between the production area and the warehouse.

**Key Relationships**

**Internal**: Plant Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Maintenance team, HSES Manager, Quality Manager, Manufacturing team

**External**: Contractors, Government, and other regulatory entities

**Overview of Role Responsibilities**

**Quality**
- Ensure inbound and outbound materials are accurate and free of damage
- Communicate any quality deviations to Warehouse Supervisor
- Ensure accurate counts when picking customer orders for shipment

**Safety**
- Comply with all PPE safety requirements for assigned work area.
- Immediately report any safety items related to you or any departmental employees. Safety items to be reported include but are not limited to bodily injury, near misses, potential dangers, spills and/or any other accidents.
- Adhere to and promote a safe working environment by ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company Food Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality standards

**Efficiency**
- Load customer orders onto assigned trucks and verify product and quantities according to pick list
- Unload trucks and transfer goods to receiving area and ensure correct product and quantities are received
- Move finished goods from production and stack pallets of goods in assigned warehouse location
- Transfer materials to and from receiving to the dry goods warehouse
- Keep the forklifts clean and performs all non-technical maintenance functions on the machine
- Ensure trailers are in safe condition to load and that the dock lock system is activated during loading and unloading
- Sample labels for quality review before moving them to production area
- Other duties as assigned

**Sanitation**
- Inspect trailers for damage and pests prior to loading and unloading
- Keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and ensure forklifts and other tools are stored in the appropriate locations
- Adheres to good housekeeping, safety, environmental, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and sustainability guidelines

**Experience Requirements**

**Education**
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift Operator Training
- Transportation of Dangerous goods certificate (preferred but not required)

**Experience**
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift

**Essential Job Functions**

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to bend and lift 25kg for an extended period

**Other**:

- Valid certification to operate forklifts
- Work outside normal business hours is required on occasion
- Required to operate a forklift inside and outside the warehouse with exposure to dust, heat, cold and irritable odors
