Supervised Access is multifaceted program that offers an important service to families in Frontenac and Lennox and Addington counties who are experiencing high conflict within their custody and access. Supervised Access is supported by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and allows children to visit with their non-residential parent in a safe, secure, child-focused, and neutral setting.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Client Management**
- Supervise family visits and exchanges according to Court Orders or other relevant agreements.
- Communicate with program participants as required regarding childcare instructions, etc.
- Provide feedback/correction to the relevant party as necessary.
- Process intakes of new families in the coordinator’s absence
- Maintain safety of program, participants, staff, and volunteers.
- Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism.
- Document accurately all visits, exchanges, cancellations, no shows, and critical incidents
- Provide conflict resolution to high conflict families and inform Coordinator.
- Organize visit schedules and book orientations for new families.
- Facilitate child orientations for new families, and second orientations for highly resistant visiting children.

**Administrative**
- Assist with preparation of observation reports and letters, and forward to Coordinator for approval.
- Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings.
- Complete minutes for staff meetings and Advisory committee meetings
- Prepare weekly direct service updates for staff regarding all families.
- Assist in maintaining program inventory.
- Prepare and provide monthly user fee statements and outstanding fees for the coordinator to review and approval before presenting to parents for payment.
- Answer telephone and document messages
- Client file management including the collection, organization, and maintenance, as well as entry into ministry database.
- Photocopy program documents when required.
- Assist with the management of the visitation schedule.
- Prepare family files in preparation for visitations each week.
- Prepare master files and portable files for new families.

**Personnel**
- Assist with staff, student placement, and volunteer training.
- Supervise staff and volunteers during family visitations.
- Manage immediate staff concerns during visitations and relay to coordinator.
- Offer staff debriefing before family visitation to share any difficulties from previous visits as required.

**Site Maintenance**
- Supervise the set-up and dismantling of sites located in Kingston and Napanee
- Maintain safety of program participants through careful set up of sites.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and toys for each site
- Oversee general maintenance and disinfecting of toys and equipment.

**Safety and Security**
- Ensure safety of program participants within the Supervised Access Best Practices
- Document Critical Incidents and forward to Coordinator
- Participate in regular safety drills.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of DSC panic button pendants and two-way radios.

**Health and Safety**
- Assist the Coordinator and Committee members to conform to all regulations.
- Follow safe work procedures.
- Report any injury or illness immediately.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Participate in joint health and safety committees if elected.
- Participate in all required training.
- Know all hazards, including those outside own work area.
- Know were the first aid kits and fire extinguishers are located and how to use them.
- Participate in workplace inspections as required.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- This is a permanent full-time position based on 40 hours per week. Afternoon, early evening and weekend work is required.
- The coordinator will set the hours of work and work schedule.
- Working environment is typically in the office, program room/classroom in generally agreeable conditions.
- Supervisor will be required to travel to all the centre’s for shifts.
- Ability to lift to 30 pounds for set up and dismantling of equipment at each site.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree/Diploma in social services from an accredited university/college; social work, early childhood education, family and youth preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification would be an asset and/or willingness to complete.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Drivers License, own vehicle and insurance, provide an original copy of current driver’s abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.
