Dining Room/guest Services Supervisor

In this full-time permanent position, you will play a vital role in overseeing breakfast, lunch, and dinner service at Martha's Table Community Program in Kingston, Ontario. Operating five days a week, you will be responsible for training and supervising volunteers, ensuring the seamless flow of meal services, and managing guest interactions within our dining room. Your commitment to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, crisis intervention, and emergency response will contribute to the success of our community program.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Volunteer Supervision**: Train and supervise volunteers to guarantee their readiness to assist guests.
Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards during volunteer activities.
**Meal Service**: Efficiently manage and supervise breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
Ensure guests receive a warm and welcoming experience during their meals.
**Supplies Management**:Maintain a stock of necessary supplies, including aprons and name tags for volunteers. Communicate promptly with the Operations Manager regarding ordering or replacement needs.
**Guest Experience**:Create and maintain a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for guests, volunteers, and staff members.
**Crisis Intervention**:Monitor guest behavior, intervene in crisis and conflict situations.
Diligently document and report incidents as necessary.
**Emergency Response**: Assess and respond effectively to emergency situations, seeking assistance from staff as required.Promptly call for support from emergency services when required.
**Facility Maintenance**: Communicate any maintenance needs in the dining room and restrooms to the Custodian/Maintenance team.
**Community Resource Awareness**:Stay informed about community services that may benefit our guests and provide this information as needed.
**Training and Compliance**:Maintain up-to-date knowledge through relevant training, including Standard First Aid (Level C CPR/AED). Ensure strict adherence to policies and protocols, including guest conduct, Health and Safety regulations, and COVID-19 mandates.
**Communication**: Regularly meet with the Operations Manager, effectively conveying any concerns or issues that may arise.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a community or dining setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations, including unhoused, elderly, and individuals in need of support.
- Understanding of crisis intervention techniques and experience in handling emergency situations.
- Knowledge of community resources and services that can benefit guests.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers and staff to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Training in Standard First Aid (Level C CPR/AED) and a commitment to maintaining current certifications.
- Ability to provide a vulnerable sector CPIC
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, as well as adherence to COVID-19 mandates outlined by the local Health Unit and Province.

**Salary**: $19.05-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
