Cardiologist/principal Investigator

**General Responsibilities**:

- Performs the duties of a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in various clinical research studies ranging from phase I-IV (phase of research may be dependent upon site
- Obtain medical histories and performs physical examinations of potential and enrolled study participants
- Maintains familiarity with, and apply, applicable regulatory documents (e.g. 21 CFR, ICH guidelines, etc.) and regulations
- Coordinates with other investigators and clinical staff to ensure acceptable medical coverage
- Maintains familiarity with roles and responsibilities of a Principal Investigator (e.g. Good Clinical Practice)
- Provides advice and input during the feasibility process
- May be required to interact with clients to provide a medical perspective during study conduct or study feasibility process
- Providing input on sponsor driven or internal protocol development
- Serves as consultant to bids and contracts to estimate potential medical costs for upcoming studies
- Interacts as a vital member of the project team (project manager, team members)offering guidance in medical procedures and operations specific to each protocol
- Provide medical input to ethics boards as an Cliantha representative
- Work with the Quality Assurance group in the development/revision and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures as required
- Ensure compliance with appropriate Cliantha SOP’s GCP and ICH guidelines
- Ensure personal resume (CV) is updated annually as required
- May be required to keep personal training file updated on a regular basis
- Work in a safe manner that does not endanger yourself or co-workers
- Strive to consistently uphold Cliantha’s core values
- Execute other duties as may be required by the Site President and other members of Cliantha Research Management team as training and experience allow

**Qualifications**:

- M.D. or equivalent (e.g. M.B.B.S.) and broad knowledge in his/her medical speciality
- Previous experience in a clinical research environment
- Broad knowledge of general medicine
- Current Medical License in practicing province
- Current CPR certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification desirable
- Royal College Certification (or equivalent) in the Principle Investigators medical specialty desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills required
- Proficient in reading, writing, and mathematical operations
- Experience must include responsibility for confidentiality
- Proficient in MS Office Suite as well as communication tools and databases
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, efficient and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

**Job Type**: Part-time

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Master's Degree (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CPR and ACLS (preferred)
- Current Medical License in Practicing Province (preferred)
